Jennifer and I are excited to be part of the Chattanooga community. We’re passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals, and opening my own Fleet Feet store is a dream come true. This is something I have wanted to do since the age of 15. I have worked in the running specialty industry for over 13 years and I am excited to be in Chattanooga. I never get tired of hearing "Welcome to Chattanooga".
I started running in 1981 at the age of 14, at the encouragement of my long time friend, Dink Taylor. Eventually Dink and I would work together for 11 years at Fleet Feet Huntsville. He and his wife Suzanne as the owners and I served as the General Manager. I made the decision to venture out on my own with Fleet Feet Sports and Chattanooga was at the top of the list of possible destinations.
Jennifer and I ran our first race together after dating for only a month. We have both ran distances up to 50K. While I have more of the retail background, Jennifer has coached many runners over the years, from assistant coaching at Jacksonville State University to coaching beginning 5K runners up to Marathon runners. We have both served as high school cross country and track coaches. Jennifer's full time job is an X-ray technologist. She heads up our training programs at Fleet Feet Sports Chattanooga.
We live on Signal Mtn. and our 18 year old son Davis, graduated from Signal Mtn. High school. He ran on the cross country and track team. Davis basically grew up in Fleet Feet, spending many days at work and after school with me. Davis works part time and he will be attending UTC this fall.
I'm a senior in high school, running for Signal Mountain High School's cross country team.
I am an avid trail and ultra runner that is the father of 4 awesome kids. I am a running success story having lost over 100lbs running. I love to help the beginner runner get started or the more experienced runner reach new distance goals of a marathon, 50k, 50 miler, or even 100 miler. I love running the trails around Chattanooga especially Lookout Mountain.
I'm from Candor, NY. I attended the University of Colorado, majoring in International Affairs and Spanish. Or, I guess you could say I majored in Running, and minored in the others. I've competed in two sprint triathlons, a number of half marathons and four 26.2 marathons. I've won the Junior Nationals Snowshoeing Championship twice. The first bike ride I went on in Chattanooga, I crashed. I like wearing short shorts, eating multiple ham sandwiches throughout the day, and beer.
